FAQs

Q?

How did you choose the name “Impact Excavating”?

A.

These two common words came together for us as very descriptive of what we do. The sudden “impact” our services have on property projects continues to amaze our customers.  Whenever we move dirt, there is a “Wow” factor regarding the dramatic change to the environment. And, of course, “Excavating” is what we do most and best. It is the technical term for “Dirt Work” – and while we love to work in the dirt, we just didn’t think having that word in the name did service to the critical importance of our activity. See this Blog Article for more discussion about the importance of Dirt!

Q?

How long have you been in business?

A.

We started business in the Treasure Valley in late 2012, but have been working in commercial and residential excavating and landscaping since 2006 in Oregon, Missouri, and Texas. Owning and developing real estate has been our side ‘hobby’ for over two decades, so we have intimate experience with the need to keep costs affordable when improving and repairing personal and business property.

How Do I Get On Your Schedule?

A.

Sometimes we can come out the next day. Sometimes we are booked out two to four weeks. When you place a deposit for your job, then that secures your spot on the calendar. We can take your payment through the Payment section of this website or with your credit card over the phone. A check by mail works as well and saves the expense of the bank card convenience fees.

Q?

Do I Need a Utility Locate?

A.

Call Before You Dig – dial 811. Excavation contractors in Idaho order their own utility locates on contracted jobs. If you have a small job at home you can do it yourself and call 811 directly. It’s Free!

Q?

What Are Your Fees?

A.

  1. For Home and Ranch: While every job is different, there are some standard prices that can be quoted over the phone based on measurements. If you simply need a long driveway to be maintained, some gravel delivered and placed, or sprinkler zones added to an existing system we can quote pretty standard prices (have your measurements handy). However, most jobs require a physical examination to determine the cost so it is best to schedule a no-cost estimate. You can contact us here to start the process.
  2. Commercial jobs can be detailed and complex. Just give us a call or email us to start the conversation.
